  • Adopting from a Dog Shelter - Important Questions You Should Ask-

Thinking about adopting a pet from a dog shelter? Use this list of questions to help solidify your decision. The answers to these questions may motivate you to consider a breeder instead, or they just may send you home with one of the most lovable creatures on earth. A dog adoption shelter carries a wide range of lovable dogs.

  • An Overview of Dog Adoption Sources- From reading some of our other articles, you should have a pretty good idea of why the birthplace or origin of a dog is so important. If you haven’t read our materials on the subject, you must understand that the location in which a dog is born and raised has a tremendous influence on a dog’s health, temperament, and sociability. It’s not always easy to determine where a dog came from especially when it sits in a shelter, a rescue group, or an adoption center. So here’s an overview of the most common dog adoption sources and a description of the influence that they may have.
  • Should You Adopt a Puppy or an Adult Dog- After deciding to adopt a specific dog breed and gender, you’ll face another choice: whether to adopt a puppy or an adult dog. Both dogs come with a healthy list of pros and cons, so it makes good sense to get acquainted with each of them! This article introduces issues surrounding both.
  • Finding a Good Yorkie Breeder- There are several compelling reasons to find a good Yorkie breeder. From health concerns all the way to future resale value, each and every reason for locating a trustworthy Yorkie breeder is well worth the effort. But isn't easy. If you Google "Yorkie breeders" on the Internet, you'll find thousands of leads, but how do you know you can trust those? We therefore offer the following resources and advice for narrowing your choices. Since we're perusing the Internet, we can start there.
  • Responsible Yorkshire Terrier Breeders- We always recommend that people patron responsible Yorkshire Terrier breeders, but unless you already know what to look for, you may inadvertently patron an irresponsible breeder instead. This article will point out the differences between reputable and disreputable breeders in hopes that you seek out the ones that really care about the animals they sell. This will in turn, make you a responsible dog owner and demonstrate that you really care for the pets you own.
  • Teacup Yorkshire Terrier Misnomers- Let's get straight to the point. The teacup Yorkshire Terrier doesn’t exist as a standard because the AKC (American Kennel Club) does not recognize the teacup Yorkie. The AKC instead, acknowledges Yorkies as toy dogs when and only when they fall within the five to seven pound range. Any Yorkie below that range is not only a non-toy -- it's dangerous. For this reason, the AKC refuses to admit the teacup Yorkie in its current standards.
  • How to Adopt a Dog With Other Pets in Your Household- It’s never a good idea to assume that all the animals in household will get along. For whatever reason, nature predicated a deep, instinctual hatred among certain species, and we as humans, should not presume to know differently or try to reverse nature’s rules. We don’t need to force shared eating spaces and time, sleeping arrangements, or opportunities to play. Chances are these events will rarely be peaceful (if at all). The smarter thing to do instead is to adopt a dog that won’t muster up too much trouble in a pet-clad home. Here are some suggestions on how to do just that.
  • Preparing For a New Dog- Bringing a new dog home involves more than puppy proofing your living space and back yard. You’ve got to adjust to a new schedule for example, purchase important accessories, and discuss the new responsibilities with the rest of the family as well. Here’s how to get organized.
  • Remember, Dog Shelters Are a Viable Pet Source- There’s probably nothing more loving you could do for a dog than to adopt it from a shelter. Despite the reasons for being there, sheltered dogs are just as wanting for affection as professionally bred dogs are. Here’s how and why you may want to adopt canines from dog shelters or dog rescue shelters.
  • Is Poodle Adoption Right for You?-

Think you're ready to adopt a Poodle? If so, you’ve got quite a job ahead of you and we’re not even talking about raising one. We’re only talking about making the _decision_ to raise one! Here are a few tips that should help you decide whether Poodle adoption is for you.

  • Adopting Healthy Poodle Puppies-

We couldn’t stress how important it is to actively seek out healthy poodle puppies any more adamantly if we wanted to. The fact is, health is the number one factor in a poodle’s longevity since poodles in general, are the most vulnerable to canine illnesses. When you’re ready to adopt a poodle puppy, checking its status health is an absolute must. Here are a few tips that will help you verify you’re looking at a vigorous pup.

  • Yorkshire Terrier Adoption Choices: Choosing Your Perfect Yorkie- If you've been dreaming of adopting the perfect companion pup, you can't go wrong with a Yorkshire Terrier adoption. Yorkies are known for their high intelligence, beaming personality, natural beauty and temperament. The only problem in adopting a Yorkie is deciding which one to get! After all, you've got quite a selection to choose from: male or female, young or old, and show dog or family pet.
  • How to Pick Yorkie Puppies- Picking out Yorkie puppies isn't as easy as you might think. Each Yorkie puppy in a litter seems just as cute and loveable as the other one, but if you're not careful to take your time, you might not choose the one that's most appropriate. What could happen instead, is that a bunch of cute little Yorkie puppies tug at your heartstring and make a decision for you. Sound decision-making skills get tossed into the wind and you fall in love with not just the first one that you see -- but each and everyone of them!
  • Reasons Why Yorkshire Terrier Dogs May Not Be For You- You may think it's strange to dissuade people from raising Yorkshire terrier dogs, but there are more than a few reasons why owning one might not be such a good idea. We therefore present this article as a cautionary piece. For the words we write are meant to protect both the Yorkshire terrier dog and the hearts of owners who might discover the match was never meant to be.
  • Should you adopt one Yorkie pup or two?- When any one of us is presented with the opportunity to adopt more than one Yorkie pup, the standard reaction is to keep siblings together. That way, the Yorkie pups won't get lonely and they'll have lovely memories of the family from whence they came, right? The truth is that a Yorkie pup adjusts to a new environments with or without its siblings just fine. And although two Yorkie pups means twice the love, it also means twice the work.
