Miniature Schnauzer

Miniature Schnauzer
Physical Description:

The Miniature Schnauzer (a smaller version of the Standard Schnauzer) is a squarely-built, muscular, small sized dog with a height ranging from 12 - 13 1/2 inches, and a weight ranging from 14 - 15 pounds. Males are generally 13 ½ inches tall and 15 pounds in weight. Females are generally 12 inches tall and 14 pounds in weight. Its rectangular head bears a blunt muzzle that's as long as its skull. And its brown eyes are set deep into the head, while its triangular ears are folded (unless cropped). High Miniature Schnauzer tails are docked and erect. The outer coat of the dog's double-coat is black, black and silver, or salt and pepper, and it covers an undercoat that’s soft and close to the skin. Thick, bushy eyebrows, beard, and whiskers are what makes the Miniature Schnauzer unique.

Best Owner and Environment:

The best owner for this type of dog is one who lives in a rural, urban, or suburban area and who lives either an active or inactive lifestyle. Since this dog makes a great traveling companion, travelers will enjoy taking this dog on excursions.
